| Procedures For Connection to Public Sewer |

1. No excavation within public right-of-way shall take place until Gulf Shores Utilities (GSU) personnel have verified the need for such excavation and the party performing the excavation has obtained any permit as may be required from the City of Gulf Shores' of Public Works. 2. Groundwater shall be maintained at least eight inches (8") below elevation of sewer connection for the duration of the work. 3. GSU shall determine acceptability of connection of building sewer to public sewer. All pipe, couplings, adapters, cleanout plugs, etc. associated with said connection must be visible and accessible for inspection by GSU personel prior to the excavation being backfilled. 4. Grease interceptor or grit chamber shall be properly installed if required. 5. Party responsible for connection to the public sewer will be liable for any damage to same resulting from his work in making such connection. 6. GSU representation for sewer connection inspection must be schedulted at least 24 hours in advance by calling Gulf Shores Utilities (251/968-6323). Such representation shall be scheduled within normal working hours. 7. If applicable, septic tank must be pumped out and filled after connection to public sewer in accordance with City Ordinance. 8. NO WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED ON CONNECTION TO PUBLIC SEWER WITHOUT PERSONNEL FROM GULF SHORES UTILITIES BEING ON THE JOB SITE. |
